We collect only what's necessary to make Gist work well for you.
Your personal information is never sold to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties — ever.
We don't share your personally identifiable information with any third party without your explicit consent.
We don't track your behaviour outside the Gist app. No cross-site tracking, no device fingerprinting.
We send only what you ask for — notifications can be fully customised or turned off entirely in Settings.
All communication between the app and our servers uses TLS. Data stored in our database is encrypted at rest.
Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. We support secure token-based sessions with automatic expiry.
Only engineers who absolutely need it have access to production data. Access is logged and audited.
We run on AWS infrastructure with regular security audits, backups, and disaster recovery processes in place.
Gist is a place for open debate, not hate. Here's how we keep it that way:
Comments and posts are screened automatically for hate speech, violence, and harassment before they go live.
Every post and comment has a Report button. Reported content is reviewed within 24 hours by our moderation team.
You can block or mute any user at any time from their profile. Blocked users cannot see or interact with you.
Accounts that repeatedly violate our guidelines are suspended. Serious violations are permanently banned immediately.

The safety of children is non-negotiable at Gist. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any content or behaviour that exploits or endangers minors.
Gist strictly prohibits Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This includes grooming, trafficking, exploitation, and any content that sexualises minors. Accounts found engaging in such behaviour are immediately and permanently banned.
Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — defined as any visual, written, or digital content that sexually depicts or exploits a person under the age of 18 — is absolutely prohibited on Gist. Such content is never permitted under any circumstances.
If you encounter any content that you believe violates our child safety policy, please report it immediately using the Report button on any post, comment, or profile. You can also email us directly at accountsupport@gistverse.com. All reports are treated with urgency.
Upon identifying CSAM or CSAE violations, we remove the content immediately, permanently ban the account, and report the material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement authorities as required by law.
